Not to be missed

Hoogkarspel is difficult to miss, with its prominent water tower of almost 50 metres high, that is rightly designated as a national monument! This peaceful countryside village lies beside the old peat fields with their irregular shapes. Once known for its many orchards and the largest number of farms in Stede Grootenbroek (to which Hoogkarspel also once belonged). Hoogkarspel is perfectly situated, between Hoorn and Enkhuizen, and near the Markermeer where you can enjoy swimming, surfing or sailing. Alternatively, visit the well maintained open-air swimming pool in Hoogkarspel, Het Streekbad.
